Recently, the 2022 list of “Most Beautiful Hometown Rivers” was announced which included a total of 11 rivers across China. Among them, Meishe River in Haikou City made the list! The list was reviewed and approved by the executive meeting of the Ministry of Water Resources.

The Fengxiang section of the Meishe River was rated as a national water conservancy scenic spot

In 2018, the Meishe River was listed in the first batch of the top ten honors list for the remediation of black and odorous water bodies for prefecture-level cities by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
At the end of 2018, at the thirteenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the International Convention on Wetlands, the Meishe River National Wetland Park helped Haikou successfully become a certified international wetland city.
Meishe River, Haikou
The Meishe River in Haikou originates in the Yangshan area at the junction of Xiuying District and Qiongshan District. The Meishe River runs through the main urban area of Haikou City and flows through the central urban area of from south to north, with a total length of about 16 kilometers.
