A recent announcement was issued by the Haikou Traffic, Port and Shipping Administrative Law Enforcement Detachment on regulating Haikou’s passenger taxis and improving service quality and passenger satisfaction of the taxi industry.
The detachment will carry out special rectification of Haikou’s rental passenger transportation industry.
The remediation will focus on transportation hubs such as ports, airports, and stations, and strengthen inspections of commercial districts, hospitals, and other road sections that have a concentrated passenger flows.
Taxis refusing to take passengers, forcibly recruiting passengers, not using the meter, picking up/dropping off passengers out of order will be investigated and punished accordingly.
At the same time, taxis operating illegally will be investigated.
In response to the problems related to taxi operations reported by citizens on the 12345 hotline, investigations will be conducted in a timely manner.
If it is confirmed to be a taxi operating in violation of regulations, severe administrative penalties will be imposed.
Taxi companies have been ordered to strengthen daily training on relevant laws and regulations for drivers and passengers, improve internal management systems, and strengthen source management.
At the same time, authorities of the industry will be notified to include service quality, reputation assessment, and strengthen industry supervision.
